Mercury in Capricorn

With Mercury in Capricorn, you think in a structured, realistic and results-driven way. Your speech is sober and measured, and your ideas often come with an execution plan before you even announce them.

When someone pitches you an exciting project, your first questions are how long, how much, and who is doing it. Mercury in Capricorn thinks like an architect. You learn methodically, laying a solid base before moving on, and what you master, you master seriously. Your speech is economical and precise, and you dislike talking for the sake of it. Your deadpan humour surprises people who thought you were stern. You are the natural choice for files that need reliability and a long view. The shadow of that seriousness is pessimism dressed up as realism. You may see the obstacles first, chill a fresh idea before it has had time to breathe, or doubt your own abilities so much that you don’t speak up in meetings. Your way of communicating can seem cold to people who need an encouraging word. Your intelligence grows when you leave room for intuition and play, and also say what you like about an idea.
