Mercury in Aquarius

With Mercury in Aquarius, you think in original, independent and often forward-looking ways. Your mind loves systems, new ideas and debate, and it distrusts anything accepted only because it has always been done.

You are the one who asks "but why do we do it this way?" and, three weeks later, suggests a method everyone ends up adopting. Mercury in Aquarius gives a free, inventive mind that sees structures and unexpected connections. You learn on your own, at your own pace, often better outside conventional schooling. New technology, science and social questions fascinate you, and you love conversations where you redesign the world. You can step back and judge a situation without getting swept away. The paradox is the rigidity of the free thinker. You may cling to an idea because it is original, or reject something obvious just because the majority believes it. Your detachment can also make your words sound cold when someone wants understanding rather than analysis. Your intelligence lands better when you also listen to people who think in more traditional ways: they sometimes see what originality misses.
